TLDR : Answer Summary
UK passport holders seeking to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand have several options. One user successfully transitioned from a tourist visa to a DTV while in Ho Chi Minh City, noting that the process was quick and straightforward. Others commented on the challenges of applying from the UK, mentioning that the Thai embassy can be strict with certain qualifications. It's suggested that applying from outside the UK may be easier. Overall, some advise coming on a tourist visa initially to explore options once in Thailand.

I’m British and came on tourist visa

Then when that was up I went to Ho Chi Minh City and applied online for the DTV.

Got accepted within 4 days I only had to provide bank statement and CV.

I have heard the Thai embassy in UK is quite hard on DTV, not accepting things like 1 dental appt, low attendance cookery schools, botany courses etc.

But remember UK nationals can apply where you are outside UK as it can be easier. Just need to stay there while the DTV is considered

OP understood perfectly well.

UK is Ukraine by the same logic.

But as it seems too difficult for you to grasp by all means use CN, which could be πŸ‡¨πŸ‡².

reportedly places like Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are fairly relaxed and not too different to stay for a couple of weeks while being considered.

Tin Kwuk Lo As I read it, CH nationals can only apply at TH embassy in CH, not in other countries, and its quite hard. Don't know if they are doing same with HK.

could try apply in bk

Bkk is one place you cannot apply!

DTV can only be applied for when you are physically out of TH.

That's why many pop to neighbouring countries for a couple of weeks to apply.

Just come on a tourist visa, once you are here you will find that all of the hassle of various visas is irrelevant.

You better hurry up. I heard they are preventing all the capable working people from leaving the island. They need you to pay 50% taxes to support all the lazy people on social welfare.

your analogy is not up to date. I only prefer to live in glass house because it provides a panoramic view of the surroundings. As for throwing stones, my words hurt more.

I'm sorry that the good old days of the UK is over. Why can't you just admit that the empire has fallen and the barbarians have taken over? You're a very big hypocrite for not living in the UK when it needs you the most.
Lynnette *******
@Us ****
you have no idea where I live. Lol. The UK is one of my homes. I'm british. What a plinker you are. You slag off other people's countries saying they are sh*t holes and yet said you don't live here.

@Lynnette ******
I spent my summers there while I was on break during my university days. My other half of the family owns a bunch of takeaways in England. It was free food and a good jump off spot to visit the other European cities. The UK was crap then and it is crap now. Occasionally, I have to visit for special family events. I was there last June and it was literally worst than when the Vandals sacked Rome.

@Us ****
you're just a troll. You post nothing useful. You use the advice page to post insults about others home countries. Repeatedly. I guess you get some sort of sad pleasure out of being offensive.

@Lynnette ******
oh Lynnette, you are still in denile that the British Empire has lost its glory. The island has been invaded by barbarians. The Americans and Chinese control the world now. The sooner you accept this fact, the sooner you can live your life in peace.
