I am here on a 6-month tourist visa that expired mid-June, I entered Thailand mid-Marts and should have left mid-May (as stamped in my passport) and then return before 18 of May when my 6-month visa expired to get my last 2 month of stay until approx 18 of July, however as I was not able to leave the country because of C19 I am now on the amnesty visa. I then got married and have all needed paperwork including the 400K in my bank account for the last 2 month. When I as immigration 4 weeks ago it was not possible to changes to 2-3 month NON-O and then later exchanges to one-year NON-O based om marriages I was told. Do anybody know or have success to get a NON-O or do you know if the circumstances will changes after the 31/7 when going on the second amnesty (or whatever its called now) so it will be possible to get the NON-O for 60 or 90 days and then convert to NON-O one year visa based om marriage?
I know it can be done but looking for a normal solution where normal fees are paid and not any special case solution. :)
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an amnesty visa after overstaying a tourist visa due to COVID-19 and seeks to transition to a NON-O visa based on marriage. They have the necessary paperwork but were informed that converting from the amnesty to a NON-O visa was not possible. However, comments suggest that obtaining a 60-day extension of stay based on visiting family may be a viable first step to eventually apply for the NON-O visa.
