What options do I have for renewing an expired Non-O multiple entry visa in Thailand during the Covid-19 situation?

Hey guys,

I am having an expired Non-O multiple entry (spouse) visa. I didn't do the extension a few months ago because I didn't think Covid will last this long. So officially I need to leave the country to get my new Non-O multiple. Called immigration asked for advise, wasn't helpful. Does anyone have a recommendation with the end of amnesty coming in? So far I can only wait and hope the borders to Lao will open so I can get my new visa in time. TIA

The user is seeking advice on renewing an expired Non-O multiple entry visa (spouse) during the Covid-19 pandemic. They are concerned about not being able to extend their visa previously and the implications of the end of amnesty, particularly with borders potentially reopening to Laos.

Have you gotten a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family yet?

okay there is NO problem applying for a yearly extension based on marriage from an expired non-O visa entry (90 day stamp) that has gone to amnesty as long as you apply BEFORE the 26th of Sept (the day amnesty runs out).

GO to the immigration office and get the hand out that lists the requirements, ask them if there's anything else you need and as long as you meet those requirements you'll get a yearly extension.

it doesn't make a difference that your actual Non-O VISA (the sticker itself) expired as the visa doesn't let you stay in the country the small blue rectangular entry stamp for 90 days you got when you entered the country on the visa is what lets you stay AND that expired months ago.

Meet the requirements get the extension, don't meet them, your option is to "prepare to depart" on or by the 26th of Sept when amnesty runs out.

Yes, the list that I got was "marriage to a Thai husband" so its slightly different than "Thai wife" one ๐Ÿ™‚ good luck to you!

You need to go out to Chaengwattana immigration and get the hand out that lists all the requirements to get a year extension based on marriage.

I understand that each immigration officer handles the case differently but I hope you get your extension ๐Ÿ™

hello and sorry to jump into your post. My non-o marriage visa expired 2 months, I still went to apply and I got a year extension without paying fine. I did it in Chaeng Watthana.

that's my advice too :( if you don't qualify for the extension of stay based on marriage, AS OF RIGHT NOW, there is nothing you can do.

Watch this group for changes.
