I have a Savanakhet non-imm O me visa issued 14 may 2019, last border bounce was 16 March 2020, so am on amnesty now.

Have had flights cancelled by airline to return to Australia and really don't want to leave Thailand.

Was planning to apply for 60 day extension about 24 September.

From 60 day extension can I apply for non-imm O from within Thailand, need the time to mature funds in Thai bank.

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user currently holds a non-immigrant O visa but is on amnesty after the expiration of their entry stamp. They plan to apply for a 60-day extension to stay in Thailand while needing to season the required funds in a Thai bank for a yearly extension application. Community suggestions indicate that they can apply for the 60-day family visit extension which would allow them time to prepare their funds, reaffirming that the current amnesty status does not impede this process.

the visa is only used to request ENTRY to thailand, it's NOT what lets you stay here, It's the small blue rectangular entry stamp that lets you STAY IN thailand :)

and as long as you entered the country before the visa sticker expired you were stamped in on it with a 90 day entry that says Non-O

AND

looking at your entry stamp you entered the country on March 16 and were stamped in until June 13th when you automatically went on amnesty.

Get your funds here, get them seasoned the 2 months you need and go apply for the yearly extension.

Seeing as there isn't 2 months between now and Sept 26th GO apply for the 60 day visit thai family extension and that will give you time for the money to season THEN just apply for the year extension.

It should work out fine..

you don't need a non-O VISA because you have one already and are on the entry from one now (even though that went to amnesty)

Get the 400K baht funds in a thai bank in your name only and go get the 60 day visit thai family extension.

They should have no problem issuing it from the 90 day Non-O entry on amnesty that you're on now

They should issue the extension as starting the day after the current amnesty expires (meaning your 60 day visit family extension would start on Sept 27th and go until Nov 25th)
