Is there a limit to the number or times we can enter Thailand on a visa exemption or tourist visa in a calendar year? I arrived in March, did the 30 day extension, and then did the COVID visa. I was thinking of visiting the Philippines and then coming back to Thailand on a tourist visa or visa exemption again. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The number of entries to Thailand on a visa exemption is generally not limited by air, but there are specific rules regarding land entry, where only 2 visa-exempt entries are allowed per calendar year. It's advised to be cautious as frequent entries using visa exemptions may lead immigration to question your intentions.
There’s a limit of 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year by land entry.
Technically no limit on entries via air. However at some point they’re gonna pull you aside and grill you as to why you’re using visa exempt and not an actual visa.
If they think you’re trying to buck the system or indeed working here using a VE then they may well refuse you entry.
If you did the Covid extension on top of a tourist visa they may question you at immigration control as they will think you are not a real tourist and have a job here
Yes. But that was after I was taken to a back office and told what I was coming to do. The story of my pregnant Thai girlfriend who went into labor the following week, supported by photos in which she can be seen with a big belly, did indeed help.
So you got in... There is no limit to visa exempt entries. Just like there's no limit to the amount of KM's you can drive on the road. Sometimes you'll get stopped at a checkpoint and asked where you're coming from and where you're going. It happens.
We don't agree 😃 Especially not after remembering a post about people denied entry after they tried to enter on VE's after staying in Thailand with Covid extensions.
