TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the likelihood of Thai immigration asking for pre-booked accommodation upon arrival in Thailand under the 45-day visa exemption. While some travelers report never being asked for such documentation, others suggest being prepared with an address for initial accommodation. Tips include having hotel bookings ready, being polite, and ensuring you have the required financial means. Overall, experiences vary, but many believe the chance of being asked is low.

Dress nicely and be polite and the chances are 0%.

I'm from the UK and I've been in and out many times and I've never been asked. I presume you will have somewhere booked or planned for when you arrive. Just show either a hotel booking for one or two nights or get a friend in Thailand to sign a letter to say that you will be staying with them.

If worse comes to the worst, book somewhere at the Thailand airport on the spot.

Some people have never been asked for then during long series of travelling doesn’t mean someone not get asked for at their first travel.

I know a guy, in person, who got asked for return travel ticket at passport control on entering Thailand, on his second travel to Thailand month gap from the first, flying from his home country even SETV. One of world’s strongest passports.

Some people get asked and others did not get asked.

Be prepared and there should be no problem, ignore the rules based on some comments on Facebook and problems will arise if you get asked.

Choice is yours.

and as that true for you and many, Thai Immigration Officers can and at times do ask for the address of your stay in Thailand.

If asked... Just have the address of your FIRST few nights stay in Thailand.

Reality it's unlikely that you will be asked by Thai immigration on arrival into Thailand.

And ask your airline if they will allow you to Fly to Thailand with your booked onward flight?

IF it's within the FIRST 44 days in Thailand... NO problem. Your Arrival day counts as DAY #1.

You are eligible for one 30 day extension of stay with your arrival as Visa Exempt.
