I am wanting to fly out of Thailand to Nepal and then return a few weeks later. Yeah, meaning I will have to go through that whole Test and Go thing again. Anybody know if it is possible to apply for the Test and Go re-entry before I even leave Thailand? I don't know why it wouldn't be, but if not I just might have to stay put.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of applying for the Thailand Pass under the Test and Go program for re-entry before leaving Thailand for Nepal. Comments confirm that it is indeed possible to apply for the Thailand Pass up to 60 days in advance, allowing travelers to manage their re-entry protocols before departing. Other users shared similar experiences regarding travel plans and requirements for entering Thailand, emphasizing the necessity of having all relevant documents, including health insurance and PCR test results, for returning.

I am returning to uk for one week, just booked my flight for 24th. As I have ins, covid cert, and visa. I applied for Thailand pass and received it back in three hours. Oh yes I booked hotel for day one and five also PCR tests. Easy

I was supposed to go to Cambodia, but due to the hassles just stayed in Thailand. Question … if I have an O retirement visa, do I need a Thailand pass to get back in?

Thanks Brandon. Because I have the O retirement visa, I bought a years health insurance with Cigna. It covers corona. But I can see me having problems with it should I try to apply for the Thai pass. As it’s not holiday insurance and I doubt it covers me for $50k for corona.

EVERYONE needs a Thailand Pass to enter the country every time, and must follow the rules at the time of entry (Test & Go, Sandbox, Quarantine, etc)

This is all very good information I appreciate it. I go back at least once a year to visit my 90 year old mother last time the Thailand pass / test n go was a nightmare very frustrating. I only go through this because I would feel horrible without visiting her once a year if she died. We're never promised tomorrow. There have been no issues traveling in and out of the USA it's just been a nightmare dealing with Thailand during this pandemic. My thai wife refuses to go if we cannot secure documents to come back in before we leave. Because of the frustrations with Thai immigration last time in November 2021 :(

I’m in the same position, please let me know too. Once I get to Thailand 🇹🇭, I will have to ask the staff at the Airport

Can I hijack your post a little and ask a similar question?

I will be in Thailand for the whole of April for the last few days I want to visit Singapore then fly back to Thailand but as a transit passenger, but it will be on separate tickets though. Will I have to redo my Thaipass?

I just want to connect to my flight back to London and not re-enter Thailand after flying back from SG

Thanks 😊

You'll have to re-enter Thailand if your flights are on seperate tickets. How are you going to reclaim your luggage and check in for your BKK to UK flight?

why can’t you checkin airside?

Transfers pick up boarding passes. Have you asked the airline?

not yet. I will wait and see what to do later in march. So much can change between now and then 😁

You still need to check in for the BKK to UK leg of your journey, you'd have to enter Thailand to do that. I dont think any airline flies Singapore to UK via BKK, so you'll be hard pushed to get a through ticket.

so that was my question. Will I need to redo the Thai pass ?

YES! Everyone who enters the country needs the Thai Pass. You'd be better off flying direct to the UK or transitting somewhere else on a through ticket from Singapore, swerving Thailand altogether.

that would be ideal if they did. It’s not super urgent I go to SG. Just wanted to have a visit for a few days, if it’s to much hassle I won’t go

To do a self-transit you'd have to enter Thailand with a Thailand Pass, go to a hotel, get tested, and then released after test results and then go to airport and continue your journey.

Singapore is a total pain at the moment too with PCR required before flight, on entry & then supervised antigen tests daily.

to transit through Thailand your ticket must be a single ticket where your bags are checked all the way through and you don't need to exit through immigration to pickup your bags and recheck them or to checkin for your next flight.

Yes it's possible. You can leave Thailand and already have your Thailand Pass for your return.

Just remember that you can only apply up to 60 days in advance though.
