TLDR : Answer Summary
As of now, the 1-day Test & Go scheme has been suspended since December 22nd. Only travelers who already possess an approved Thailand Pass for Test & Go and are entering before January 10th may still benefit from it. For everyone else, a mandatory 7-day quarantine is required. Alternatives like the Phuket Sandbox offer a similar arrangement but with strict hotel booking requirements and travel limitations. Current updates about the situation indicate that the Test & Go scheme will not likely resume before the end of January.

Only if you are Thai I believe.

It's all the same Thai or Farang. Only differens is that if a Thai tests positive and symptoms is mild they can most likely quarantine at home. So for us...my thai wife and me...if we test positive I have to quarantine in a $$$$$ hospitel but she can go home to our house in Thailand. Yes we live together in Europe.

I can attest to how seriously they are taking it. I tested positive on day 6. I was looking at condos to rent and they called me. They said do not take BTS or taxi. They came and got me in ambulance van. Drove me to hotel. Informed hotel staff I was entering to get my luggage and then off to quarantine hotel. There are all kinds here. Some Thais are required to quarantine here as well. They treat you pretty well. Nurses are on top of it and always texting every hour or so to make sure everything is ok. I suggest if you come here and make it past day 1 of your trip, stay in your hotel till 2nd covid test. I went out 1 single night and caught it. Just be careful. It's everywhere and the Thai government is taking it very seriously. I was angry at first, but actually relieved to know they are doing what they can to keep people safe.
nah. I have cold like symptoms. Just honestly thought it was the dry heat and pollution here. I moved here, so not wasted for me, but I do see your point for holiday it being wasted. It's the chance people have to decide to take.
that's the last place he's going to be able to go in the near far future...

I know this is stressful for everyone, but as Annie sang, it’s only a day away. We will have an answer tomorrow (maybe, sort of). Why stress out trying to guess?
I've been saving money since 2019 to go to Thailand on 2020. But, due to this coronavirus lockdown I'm still unable to go till this day. It's extremely stressful for me as it was supposed to be my first trip abroad and it's still a dream because of this stupid lockdown and covjd restrictions.
😞. I feel for you. I seriously do. I spent over a decade changing my life, including slowly phasing out having pets, ridding myself of all my belongings, including my home, etc. etc. to plan for a nomadic lifestyle. I returned to the U.S. in Jan 2020 for an emergency and missed my flights to Phuket on
****
/2020 due to a medical emergency. That’s when I took the opportunity to sell my house so I could be free and clear. However, I have never been able to have my nomadic life and I cannot get back to Thailand. I’ve yet to visit the islands.
I am very stressed because I’m wasting an exorbitant amount of money on a life I don’t want, waiting for the life I do. So, I get it.
I also really regret not traveling earlier in my life, so I STRONGLY encourage you to continue to follow your dreams. However, you can get no answers today. That’s simply a fact. I will be thinking of you today and tomorrow and hoping your dreams come true.
at least you might have traveled somewhere ouf of USA. I haven't been able to go anywhere and at the age of 21, i finally made a vow to myself to live a nomadic life and Thailand was my first destination but couldn't go there due to covid, i mean the lockdown started just few days ago my expected travel. I'm glad that i at least didn't book the flights or hotels or my money would have been wasted. And, yes, i can understand you very well. Due to covid, i was very bored at home so i had to buy a gaming console which i never intended to buy but i had to do it, in order to not get bored at home. I was so depressed that i had to consult a psychiatrist. I thought I'd never visit a psychiatrist again but i had to as I'm still suffering from anxiety, depression and OCD and the ability of still not be able to travel there is very discouraging and depressing too.
I can also understand you and i empathize you too. Please don't get me wrong. I was just sharing my condition and situation that has ruined my career at the age of 21 when i was just about to make a fresh start. Please don't feel bad. We're all in the same boat and we must care and empathize for each other.

No, Test & Go is still suspended everywhere.
But if you already have your Thailand Pass approved for Test & Go, this will still be honored.
There has been some rumors about these being honored until January 10th, and then the arrangement would be cut off, but that is NOT true.
If you have your Thailand Pass approved, it's approved until officially stated otherwise.
Your best option would probably be the Phuket Sandbox.
Here you'll have a mandatory quarantine in your hotel room until your PCR-test comes back negative. After this you can freely travel around Phuket as you please.
Your entire stay must be booked at a certified hotel, and you can't travel away from Phuket ( unless out of the country ) for 7 days. After the 7 days you're free to travel to the rest of Thailand.
hope your right. I arrive January 12th if they don't stop entry after the 10th. There suppose to make an announcement Friday January 7 giving details. They where suppose to male it today but put it off till Friday. That's only 3 days until the opposed cut off date.
This is not about screwing people. I have yet to see an insurance covering a mandatory stay in a hospital or hotel because the person sitting next to you in the airplane tests positive for Covid.
I sent an email to my insurance-company today to ask about these scenarios.
All of the above scenarios are covered in my insurance, no symptoms required. They even cover new flight-tickets if I can't catch my flight home because of the quarantine.
I'm covered if I tested positive when arriving.
I'm covered if I'm quarantined due to another person on my flight testing positive.
And I'm covered if I'm unlucky enough to catch if while I am here.
So I'm pretty much fully covered for covid-expenses on my travels.
If you don't have any symptoms??? They still cover??? And if you get quarantined because your neighbour seat tested positive...They cover??? Come On! What Insurance company you have?
🔴 Anutin, the Minister of Public Health, said he will propose to the CCSA to extend the suspension of the Test & Go program to 31st January due to the worldwide increase in Omicron. In addition, he proposes a 10th January deadline for Test & Go travellers to arrive in Thailand.
it was proposed last time and it was approved by the same guy so just assuming. Also with everything going into shutdown it's kinda expected at this point
Because spreading a false thing. It's really old news that it never went true.

Atte Jussi. It was proposed TODAY that the January 10th cut off date be imposed. That's what people are talking about. Getting angry will not change anything
yeah just like last time he proposed on the 20th that the test & go will be cancelled and the 21th it was official..
So angry right now, I have my thailand pass approved already and bought touristvisa which is also approved and everything is booked for arriving in bkk at the 18th of January with a hotel and staff picking me up at the airport and now this crappy news =(
Bobby ********
Henrik Highmountain. My biggest concern is I've got a gut feeling they're going to suspend sandbox because of the number of positives entering through Phuket.
So. Now we are talking! 😉 It might happend about the 10th thing. But still a propposal. How heavy it weights I don't know. But that would be my last change that I deal with. I will cancel (3month stay) and go back to work. No More Thailand Ever sinse it's impossible to plan ahead.
nope. If you don’t have a ThailandPass already you can only do the sandbox entry, in which you stay in the hotel for 7 nights but are free to roam Phuket during the day.
Ok. So YOU have to stay at home. We others that follow the news we will GO! Only thing that happend 22nd was that no more new applications was possible. Closed. But onse you got you application in you will get it approved unless you are a terrorist or something.
they asked if the one day test and go is still on, so if presume they haven’t all ready applied, it was suspended on 22nd December. For now if you had a Thailand pass before or on the 22nd it will be accepted. You can’t apply for a Thailand pass for the 1 day test and go anymore at the moment. What do you not understand about that?
Ok. That I buy. With slight error. You did NOT need to Have you Thailandpass Beofre 22nd. You had to have you application in before 00:00 on the 22nd. I got my pass 24th and that is still a Go. Ok. But I get what you meant now. Sorry ;-)
