Hi everyone, I have booked a flight from Canada to Phuket, transiting through Bangkok. Can I still do the test and go or sandbox program at Phuket? Or do I need to do it at Bangkok? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from Canada inquiring about participating in the Test and Go or Sandbox program in Phuket while transiting through Bangkok received various responses. It was highlighted that if the flight is booked as a through ticket on a sealed route from Bangkok to Phuket, participation is possible starting from February 1, 2022. However, concerns for travel restrictions were noted, including the need for Thai Pass approval and the implications of transiting for more than 24 hours, which could require quarantining.

If you just transiting it’s fine. Now also, if you are more than 24hr than you will be quarantined

You need to be on a specific flight, booked on one ticket that is sealed route.

I am applying it now after I purchased the ticket. That’s where I got confused with the PGxxxx domestic flight requirements

I would certainly double check with both Air Canada and Thai Airways. Transit via Bangkok to Phuket has not been allowed to date. As Garrett mentioned there’s been talk of a “sealed route” from Bangkok Airways PG5xxx flights and indeed I see two of those flights showing for tonight on the arrivals flight board, but there’s been no mention in the press or these forums that Thai airways are operating sealed routes and I doubt they’d allow you to fly a “unsealed” domestic route without first having done the test and go in Bangkok. The fact that you have a ThailandPass doesn’t guarantee they’ll let you fly to Phuket. I’m not saying it can’t happen, just that it would be very unusual and certainly a change in government policy.

Historically you have NOT been able to transit through Bangkok to Phuket. Some people say that's changed, I saw a proposal a few weeks ago but haven't seen anyone actually transit through Bangkok to Phuket.
