EDIT : If you are landing in Bangkok - can you buy another ticket (Bangkok Airways apparently only offers that sealed route flights ) and come to Phuket and do the Test&Go in Phuket ? // Hello everyone! As i failed to get in touch with Thai Pass contact center I need to ask you for help. My husband is flying from Vietnam. His destination is Phuket, but there is a layover in Bangkok (all booked at the same time). I know that normally you need to fly directly to your destination, but i aldo found some semi clear information that if it’s a ‚sealed route’ and if it’s between Bangkok and Phuket it is possible to transit in Bangkok without having to spend a night there. Could anyone confirm this and could you actually tell me which flight number i should put while applying for Thai Pass and Covid test ? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry addresses whether it's possible for a traveler, with a layover in Bangkok on a ticket to Phuket, to buy a separate ticket to continue to Phuket without undergoing the Test&Go regulations in Bangkok. Clarifications suggest that, under sealed route regulations, passengers must remain on the designated flights (PG flight numbers) and cannot book additional tickets to bypass the regulations.

From your edit. No you cannot buy another ticket (on a sealed flight) to take you on to Phuket without having to do the test and go in Bangkok first.

The flight numbers start with PG for sealed route flights

the flights are either PG5XXX or WE5XXX. They must be part of the same ticket booked as part on your international flight. They cannot be booked as a separate ticket.

I’ve yet to see a single report from someone who’s actually been on one of the sealed flights to Phuket. They exist, but perhaps only tour groups use them.

I flew to Krabi domestically on a PG flight on Thursday. The board showed MANY airlines that it was codeshare for, but if there was anyone connecting I have no idea when they boarded because I never saw anything special except the normal waiting area connected to the terminal which I doubt they would let international connections wait in.

The whole thing is still highly confusing and they really shouldn't have even thrown it into the mix in my opinion.

There’s lots of PG flights daily as well as WE. If they don’t start with PG5 or WE5 then they’re normal domestic flights.

see it's confusing even to me being in Thailand for 1.5 years 😂😂

Thank you. Do you know if you can just buy the flight from Bangkok to Phuket separately (i was told at the hotel its Bangkok Airways that only offers those flights) or it has to be one booking, one trip ?

has to be booked on the same ticket as the inbound flight into BKK
