Is the bank letter for renewing a retirement visa in Thailand valid for 7 calendar days or 7 business days?

I am renewing my retirement "visa" here in Phuket and I see the bank letter is supposed to be issued no more than 7 days prior to application. Does anyone know if this is 7 calendrer days or 7 business days? Also if immigration is closed for a couple of those days, does this extend the period? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for the bank letter when renewing a retirement visa in Thailand has recently changed, with the letter now needing to be issued on the same day as the application. There is some confusion regarding whether the 7-day rule refers to calendar or business days, with indications that in Pattaya the requirement is for 3 business days. Additionally, it must be noted that to renew a retirement visa, applicants are actually applying for an extension of stay based on being over 50 years of age.

I do not believe that you can renew a retirement visa in Thailand. You need to apply for an extension of stay based on being over 50 years of age.

there is no such thing as a retirement Visa. It is an extension of stay based on retirement.

Recently changed to needing the bank letter on the SAME day you apply.

it depends on the office. For Udon Thani it's 7 days. I was told by immigration they don't insist on the same day because there are a couple of banks that can't guarantee to get the letter to you on the same day.
