Hi. Chiangmai. I have a 90 day retirement visa, expires 1 June. They said, come in 1 month ahead for the 1 year extension.

Regarding the bank letters, do I have to have 2 letters, one a current statement of the account, and then another letter showing one years transactions? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a one-year extension on a 90-day retirement visa in Thailand, it is advised to submit a current bank statement as well as a bank letter showing account transactions for at least the previous two months, all at the time of application. Ensure your bank book is updated on the application date.

As you are still on the first 90 days from a Non-O visa based on retirement, it's your first application for a 1-year extension. Then you will need a bank record for the full two months as minimum as of the application date. You also need to update your passbook on the day of application.

Just a question, is bank letter (together with transactions and updated bank statement) normally required also for the two months when you apply for your first extension of stay?

it comes down to whether you've updated your bank book enough times during the 2 months initial seasoning when you apply for the first year extension from the Non-O .

I always recommend at least ask for a 2-3 month detail transaction report when you go get the bank letter.

Most banks can print that on the spot and give it to you with the bank letter..

That way you have the whole transaction history in case your bank book doesn't
