TLDR : Answer Summary
The validity of the bank documents required for the Non-O visa extension related to retirement in Bangkok has different time frames. The bank letter, which states your name, account, and balance, is valid for 7 days from its issuance. However, it is now essential to obtain an annual statement from the bank rather than a 3-month statement, as this change appears to require longer validation for visa extensions.

so what I understand
@Tod ********
explains, is, the "bank guarantee letter" for the "deposit method" must now be issued for the full period of one year, instead for - as was the rule before - only the 3 (now 2) months prior to the date of the new application of Extension of Stays based on retirement. So the old style "bank guarantee letter" (rab rong thanakan) for three months, for the "deposit method", is according to

, not sufficient any more ? That's good to know, because I have never before needed to ask my bank for the full year statement, only for the 3 month statement, and I don't know how long it will take them to issue it

Not quite
@Gre***
, IF you update your bank book every month during the previous year it will show the monthly balance and you won't need a year print out of transaction history. BUT what happens is IF you wait and update your bank book say every other month or so AND there are a lot of transactions on it, all it prints is a summary of money in/money out NOT a line by line history and immigration cannot tell from the bank book alone IF you followed the seasoning requirements. SO that's why they just ask that people get the year transaction history to check that you kept the 800K baht in the account for 3 months after the extension, and then never let the balance go below 400K baht until you topped it back off at 800K baht two months before your current application

I mean the bank document attesting the 800,000 baht for 3 months after the last extension and two months before the new extension. the other document would be the copy of the bank book with the balance of the day of the extension? thanks for your answer

That is the year's worth of transaction history, and most banks don't print it on the spot (some take a week to get it for you) and as long as the other bank letter is within 7 days AND you upate your bank book on the date you apply you won't have any problem with that years worth of print out being done before the application date.

Make sure you go to your bank and ask them how long it takes to get the full year print out. Many banks only keep 6 months of it on file at the bank and have to request it from the main office (which takes 3 to 5 days).

I think you might be confusing two separate documents you need from the bank.

One is a print out of the previous years transactions (to show you met the seasoning requirements for the whole year) and the other is the bank letter that states your name, the account, the balance, etc.

The bank letter is valid for 7 days from the date it's issued and looks like this
