I intend travelling in June. Can I ask if the 30/60 day Visa Exemption on arrival is still ok to travel. I am getting mixed messages from friends in Thailand. I just looked at the Thailand embassy site and seemingly it is still ok to arrive Visa free. Maybe it has not been been updated yet. Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current status for travelers arriving in Thailand is that the visa exemption remains at 60 days. Although some speculation exists regarding a reduction to 30 days, no official announcement has been made regarding this change. Travelers can still enter Thailand without a visa as of now, but the situation remains fluid and it's advised to check closer to your travel date for the latest updates.

Man, that's great news. I was overhearing a conversation online and probably didn't get all the context. I'm hoping to put together a Thailand trip in January or February 2026. If 60 days it still available with passport only, that would be a awesome. But 30 days would be ok too.

60 days today, tomorrow who knows

Before June it may have been cut down to 30 days

day Visa Free Exemption after May 1st or fill in a Thailand visa application online before we travel. We must wait and see.

All OK for you to get free visa exemption. At the moment it is still 60 days , but it will go to 30 days in the near future but it hasn't been announced when .
Mark *******
Not definite by any means,pure speculation!

Your friends have no idea what they are talking about. Absolutely nothing is changing with visa exempt. You can arrive without a visa no problem. It's possible but unlikely it will change back to 30 days, but that still wouldn't change the fact that you can arrive without a visa.

If they are talking about the TDAC, then that also has nothing to do with you arriving without a visa. It's just switching from an old paper form you used to fill out on the plane to a digital form you fill out online.

, you mention the old paper form you used to fill out on the plane ? I’ve arrived many times from the US via Korea , Taiwan or Japan and have never filled out any form on the plane ? I’ll still figure on doing the TDAC form online though , I guess .
Robbie *******
@Brandon ***********
, I don’t remember doing that form in the past but up until last year I had an eleven year gap with no travel to Thailand .

Thanks for your response mate , your answers are always very helpful , if I ever bump into you , the drinks are on me .
Brandon ************
@Robbie ******
it was suspended for 2 years for air arrivals, but it was never eliminated. If you traveled to Thailand more than 2 years ago you had to fill out the paper TM6 and keep half of it with you to hand over when you left. And it's still used at some land borders even today.

I have a question for you after my ED visa finish do I have to go laos and back, I've come to thailand on 2024 as tourist stay 3 months and 12 months on ED visa. How long should i have to stay in laos, and best travel agency
Brandon ************
@Abdalah *********
Don't try to do it on your own. Definitely use a border bounce agency to do it. If you're in Bangkok these people have a good reputation

If you're not in Bangkok you'll have to find one in that area

from May 1st 3 days prior to your flight you have to go online Thai embassy website and fill out a TDAC , "Thailand digital arrival card"

I looked at the TDAC form. It’s straight forward but for one item. It asks for a “Visa Number”. Will I get it when I fill the form in 3 days before travelling or do I get it on arrival. I am not travelling until the end of June. Thank you very much.

visa number is only if applicable as there's no red asterisk next to it

The uncertainty is very frustrating. Booked tickets for 75 day visit beginning in August a few days before the latest news. Should be able to obtain a 60 tourist visa plus a 30 day extension if needed.

@Eric ********
There’s no latest news here, everything is as it has been since 15th July last year. You can apply for a 60 days tourist visa at 40 USD to be 💯% secure.
Eric *********
@Jan *****************
That’s what I said. 🤣😂
Jan ******************
@Eric ********
Well, then I guess there shouldn’t be any reason for frustration.
Eric *********

You guessed wrong. Paying for/spending an hour to get a passport photo, paying for a visa, my wife writing an invitation letter in lieu of hotel reservations (and hoping it’s formatted correctly) and then waiting several days to find out if we jumped through all the hoops correctly. Hassle +cost + uncertainty instead of just getting a passport stamp.
Jan ******************
@Eric ********
You’ve probably never applied for a e-visa before. You just do a selfie, no reservations required, just upload the information. Took me ten minutes in total to apply for a Non O and was approved within two days. And I happily pay 40 USD to avoid going around being frustrated if that’s the case.
Eric *********
@Jan *****************
No I haven’t done an E visa before but the instructions say reservations or a letter of invitation are required.

And perhaps a selfie will work but the instructions have passport photo specific instructions.

Sure I’ll be able to figure it out but if my wife wasn’t from Thailand…someplace else would be more inviting.
Jan ******************
@Eric ********
Why worry. Even if it’s changed back to 30 days you still can apply for an additional 60 days extension on a visa exemption visiting family as married to a Thai.
