TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a DTV visa after having resided in Thailand on ED visas since 2019 without leaving the country. Responses indicate that transitioning from ED to DTV should be feasible if the user's visa history is legitimate. Community members shared their experiences, mentioning that interviews are standard, and proof of income or employment, especially in a foreign context, is crucial. Overall, if the applicant can provide reasonable answers and documentation, they are likely to succeed in their DTV application.

I have a history of ED visas and they called me in for an interview. I do speak Thai fluently, but I get the impression that this wasn’t the point of the interview. Instead they were more concerned about how I was funding my previous years in Thailand. I recommend bringing a laptop and showing them your work. Once the officer understood that I was making money online for my entire duration spent in Thailand, and I could prove it, I got the visa easy.

You’ll be fine if everything you did is legit as you said. Apply wherever- I did it in Taiwan- or you can go to Vietnam. Expect that you will be interviewed but it should be fine.

Good luck!

I arrived here since 2022 doing visa extension every month until 2024 August when i got DTV. They can ask you questions but give then reasonable answers and required documents. That should be okay.

what type of visa were you on since 2022?

Should be no problem, if it was all legit. If you had language visas and can’t speak the language you might run into a problem.

You never exit the country since 2019? Are you overstaying then?

May i just ask how can you stay in Thailand on ED visa for so long? I stayed for a year and the institution i was with informed me i only have 10 months left if i want to continue then i run out of quota. I thought there’s a certain period on this visa that you can’t exceed?

I use university and immigration of a city in Isan, in tourist areas there are many inspections, maybe that's why they don't agree to do it.
