I’m an American citizen and thinking about traveling to the Philippines and applying for the DTV from there. Mostly because if I get approved for the DTV visa but get rejected by Thai immigration I don’t want them to send me back to America. Anyone here apply from the Philippines? If so how long did it take? Thanks in advance!!!
Answer summary
An American citizen is considering applying for the DTV visa from the Philippines to avoid being sent back to the US if rejected by Thai immigration. Responses in the community suggest that applying from the Philippines is common, with varying processing times from a few days to weeks. Some emphasize that having a valid DTV visa should prevent issues with immigration upon entry. Concerns about being sent back to the US due to rejection appear to be unfounded, as entry procedures typically honor the visa, assuming all requirements are met.

acceptance or rejection completely depends on the past travel to Thailand including any offences etc..., financials and accuracy in documentation....if you choose to do it by yourself you may or if you choose an agency then you can get in touch with us. Our success rate has been consistently positive.
Applying in your home country is way better, and the US based embassies are actually helpful. Why would Thai immigration reject if you have a valid DTV? Unless you're hiding a criminal record or something, you should be ok.
I'm thinking about applying from the Philippines as well. Have been searching in this group and I've found 1 case in here of someone being called in for an interview. I really didn't want to stay in Manila while i wait for approval. I believe you can apply from anywhere once you're in country. If i list my current address outside of Manila, are they going to ask me to go to Manila for an interview??
Don’t listen to the negative troll people on here “what ifs,” and “it can change later you don’t know,” they are mostly miserable old single men sex-addict perverts in Pattaya. Alcoholic chain smokers who want everyone to be as miserable as them after their divorce.
Applying from the Philippines is fine — a lot of people do it there. Processing time really varies by consulate, usually a few days to a couple of weeks, sometimes longer.
Also, approval of the DTV and entry at immigration are separate, but if there’s an entry issue you’re normally sent back to your last port of departure, not automatically to the US.
