What are the rules and procedures for extending the Thailand DTV by 6 months?

DTV Extension Questions:

1) When is the earliest possible time that someone can extend the DTV by another 6 months?

2) Can I get the DTV and then immediately go to extend it by 6 months at immigration, or do I have to wait a certain time?

3) Have there been any credible sources (actual person who did it already) as proof that it costs 1900 or 10000 THB to extend?

Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses questions regarding the extension of the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand, specifically regarding the timing for extending the visa, required waiting periods, and costs associated with the extension. Comments suggest that the extension window may be 30-45 days before the current stamp expires, and the cost is likely around 1900 THB, although there are discussions about potential scams causing inflated fees. The responses indicate uncertainty about specific procedures and emphasize checking with local immigration officers for reliable information.

Honestly probably easier just going on a 2 day holiday to Vietnam and returning.

When I enquired at CW in Bangkok they said it was the same as other extensions, so up to 45 days before and 1900 baht. Apparently I did read there was a scam in Phuket where extensions would cost 10,000 baht, although I figure this would be an agent jumping onto the bandwagon and looking for a quick buck!

I think the easiest thing to do is to leave and come back in a day.

Extension window is from 30-45 days or less before your permission to stay stamp expires. Almost certainly when you have 30 days left at all offices and 45 at a few. Why extend when you can just bounce in and out? Nobody knows what the extension process might entail yet, a good possibility of document resubmission. It's not going to cost 10,000 this would have been disclosed upon launch.
