The ONLY consulate(s) in the area that are charging the actual 10K baht are Vientiane and Savannakhet Lao.

Here's some of the breakdown

Phnom Penh 400 USD

Hanoi/HCMC 340 USD

Kota Bharu/KL/Penang 1,600 MYR

Jakarta 5,600,000 IDR

Singapore 500 SGD

USA 400 USD

Canada 650 CAD

UK 300 GBP

Australia 600 AUD

New Zealand 2000 NZD <- the most expensive DTV in the whole world 😮

Mine got rejected due to a mismatch in my name and my passport. Paid 340 USD.

I wrote my name Bjorn instead of Bjoern (in my passport). Do you think they will allow me to change that or do they really expect me to pay another 340 just for one letter?
Seb ********
They expect you to pay for YOUR mistakes.
Bjørn ********************
It's not really a mistake, I mean there is nothing in the application that says that if my name contains Ø that I have to write OE, in both instructions and manual it only says "as written in your passport" and the closest you can get to an Ø is an O.

@Bjørn *******************
they will. I had a similar case of spelling. i called them few days later and they told me in a good mood; your money is gone but no worries just apply one more time with right spelling
Bjørn ********************
@Max ****
The instructions in the application are very unclear, they only sent me the rules for name spelling after my application got rejected ...

@Stephan **********
I read this - is it true? It makes no sense that us NZers should pay so much more 🧐
Stephan ***********
@Michael *****
Well... sense or not... whatever their reason is/was... they changed the visa fees in March from "normal" to "crazy"...

And when the DTV came new in July the price was set to 2,000 NZD.

I'd think twice about using an agent if you don't have the required funds. I can see immigration asking to see proof in online banking in future re-entries.

It depends on the country ‘s embassy.

why do you need agents ?
Andi ***********
Laos charges the 10k THB but majority of embassies apply their own exchange rate/mark up. Agents in Thailand charging for Laos range from 30K THB to 100K THB depending on the level of "service" needed.
