Planning on doing a border bounce to activate my 2nd 6 months of my DTV tomorrow at PoiPet Cambodia. I just wanted to double check that there have not been any reports of issues doing this? Its as simple as leaving and coming back in again right? No paperwork required?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation highlights concerns about using the PoiPet border for a visa border bounce to activate a second 6-month period on a DTV visa. Several commenters strongly advise against crossing at PoiPet due to reports of issues, including extortion and difficulties re-entering Thailand. Alternatives like the Ban Pakkad border are recommended, with assurances that, typically, only a passport and a DTV printout are required upon return. However, having additional documents handy is suggested to avoid any potential issues with immigration officials.

Thanks all for replies. I will avoid PoiPet. It seems ban pakkad is the way. Just takes longer and requires a bus change but better than being screwed over at PoiPet.

wise, i entered in Poipet 1 month ago and the iO only gave me 90 days. When i said it was 180 days , she repeated 90 days. I did not say anything more because i was leaving in 30 days anyway.

I have been to Ban Pakkad before with visa run companies and it was smooth. Are there any direct public bus/van services from Bangkok? I am looking online and it seems like there might not be.

the border bounce service companies prearranged your exit and reenter into Thailand.

That's why they are a recommended way to border bounce with a SAME DAY RETURN.

Would the 2nd 6 month run, requires us to show the documents and upto date statement or can we directly enter ? Flying to bkk/dmk.

And I wanted to know if anyone could help me, I’m planning to travel abroad to Japan for 10 days within my first 6 months. What would be the situation then. Anyone who could help, thank you in advance ā˜ŗļø

Anonymous participant 337 everytime you enter Thailand, all you have to do is give your passport and a print out of the dtv. No need to show anything else. I've entered 4 times in the past 6 months. Got a new 180 days arrival stamp each time. No questions asked.

Anonieme deelnemer 857 Normally you do not have to show anything else, but IO always has the right to check if you still comply with visa requirements, so it might be a good idea to have everything available online, just in case...

Don't go to Poipet, choose any other crossing. You'll need to file a TDAC before returning

There was a post here a few months back where Poipet simply refused to let a guy in with DTV. He had to go back to SR and fly. It was only a single report of this though

AVOID POIPET BORDER CROSSING. You may cross into Cambodia, but be told to fly in when you try to reenter Thailand. It has happened to MANY.

i havent seen it happened to anyone with DTV or other visa, only people doing visa runs. I avoid it because of its busy and if you cross the bordee by car, paperwork takes ages

Poipet as a rep for suddenly changing rules arbitrarily and denying reentry to random people, especially if you try to go out and back in same day
