Is it safe for my friend to stay in Thailand with a marriage extension under consideration until July 15th, even though his current extension expires on June 17th?

Hi, asking for a friend. He has applied for his second marriage extension on 11th May and has been stamped under consideration until 15th July. But his current marriage extension runs out on the 17th June.

Is this OK, as in no over stay etc as he has the under consideration stamp to report back on the 15th July. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your friend's situation is acceptable as his current legal stay is under consideration by the Immigration Bureau until July 15. He will not encounter an overstay issue as long as he reports back on the assigned date.

I think I am right in saying when he reports back on 15th July, he will have 11 month's left on that ext. of stay.

Yes, 1 month under consideration and when approved he wil get 11 months Extension of Stay which makes it a total of 1 year on top of his current stay.

You may tell your friend that his current legal stay is under consideration of the Immigration Bureau and he has to report back at the same office on 15 July.

He does not go into overstay until 15 July.
