TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the possibility of obtaining a Certificate of Residence in English at Thai immigration. It highlights that while some embassies might provide this document in English, not all do. The conversation also includes details on how to obtain a Certificate of Residence and the necessary documentation, such as a blue book, lease agreements, and TM30 forms, emphasizing the importance of following proper immigration procedures.

What does the lease agreement actually mean. Does it give you the sole right to live in the property if the relationship fails or your both still living there?. Does it mean that you have the sole right and she needs to find alternative accommodation.?
Bobby ********
Lee Greenwood. Depends whose name is on the lease.

Ben ****
David Broadfoot obviously money for the lawyer
Ben ****
David Broadfoot that is true. Though both beat the 30 year lease.
Paul ********
David Broadfoot well that’s the first time I have heard that and I have lived here a couple of years. Many of my friends say that
Paul ********
David Broadfoot yes 49%
Kenken ********
I don’t have blue book or yellow book but only a lease agreement
Kenken ********
Thank you 😊
Bobby ********
@Kenken *******
. That'll do it. You'll need your latest TM30 form too.
Bobby ********
Kenken Kenken. A lease will do the job
Paul ********
@Kenken *******
go to immigration with blue book and two photos
John ********
@Paul *******
how does a farang et a blue book? I have a yellow book at present.
Paul ********
@John *******
I own a condo so have a blue book because I own it
John ********
@Paul *******
Im building a house this year so I may qualify
Paul ********
@John *******
no you can’t own a house because it sits on land that has to be owned 51% by a Thai.

My condo block is owned 51% Thai and 49% ferlang so some condos are one or the other
John ********
@Paul *******
BUGGER ! Wife owns the land.
Paul ********
@John *******
yep and all that sits on it. 1 st rule in Thailand don’t build a house but if you do arrange a lease so you can live there until you die.

So if your 60 have her sign a 30 year lease so you live there rent free and she can’t sell it
Ben ****
@Paul *******
If you want to live there until you die, better to have a usufruct registered on the title deed. It remains irrespective of who the owner is
PJ *********
Good question like the info too
Bim *******
There used to be translation services at the Trendy building in Bangkok on Soi13
Paul ********
No. Some embassies will provide, but not all.
