Is a certificate of residency from the British Embassy sufficient for the Thai motorcycle test, or does it need translation?

I'm looking to go and do the Thai motorcycle test and I have an appointment to get a certificate of residency from the British Embassy.

Does anyone know if the certificate is then acceptable in it's current form or does it need to be translated and approved by the MOA before it is accepted?

Just want to make sure I do this correct first time round and nowhere online mentions getting it verified first.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether a certificate of residency obtained from the British Embassy is acceptable for taking the Thai motorcycle test, or if it requires translation and approval by the Ministry of Affairs (MOA) beforehand. Community responses indicate that the certificate may need to be translated into Thai by an official service for it to be accepted by the Department of Land Transport (DLT), and the process may vary depending on the local office. Additionally, one comment suggests that obtaining it from the Embassy may not be necessary as it is usually issued by the local Immigration office.

AFAIK it has to be translated into Thai by an official translation service.

That translation then is what you bring and show to the DLT.

Can be gotten at either immigration (if you're on a Non immigrant visa) or your embassy.

you might also know that your health certificate can be got at a local clinic for about 100 baht if you’re getting two licenses the hospital or the health clinic might want to sell you two at two times the money 200 baht or in the hospital can be as much as 300 baht for each. Don’t fall for that BS the land transportation office will except a copy of your health certificate if you’re getting two licenses/car and motorcycle license.I was shocked when the hospital wanted 600 but I think them very kindly and went to a clinic and got a health certificate for 100 baht and made a copy for one baht and everything was fine

It's quicker from the Embassy, you get it right away. From Immigration it takes two weeks.
