I live in Nonthaburi and need to get a driver's license. In order to do that, one of the documents needed is a certificate of residence from immigration. I went to Nonthaburi immigration yesterday and was informed that they nolonger issue these and that l need to ask my embassy to provide the certificate/letter. I contacted my embassy and they said they do not issue these either. Now I'm frustrated and stuck😭 Does anyone know how to go about this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A resident in Nonthaburi is seeking advice on how to obtain a certificate of residence, which is necessary for acquiring a driver's license. After being informed by the immigration office that they no longer issue this document and receiving the same response from their embassy, the individual is feeling frustrated and stuck. Comments from the community suggest various solutions, including consulting an agent, reaching out to other local authorities like the police station, and gathering more information from community members who have successfully obtained the document.

Got mine at local police station, not immigration.

That's not right... They definitely issue residency certificates at immigration. Maybe you spoke to someone who didn't understand what you wanted. Try again.

Some immigration offices require you to be on a long term visa and have done at least one 90 day report before they will issue them. Some DLT offices also require this.

Welcome to thailand 😊

The nonthaburi should issue them, they did in the past and they are supposed to. You might have had a misunderstanding. I also believe they do require a 90 day report same CW office.

Agent or tell the 2 parties that someone has to give in and do it because both are denying you.

Contact a Thai visa agent. Generally they can help with this form of stuff. Or put a shout out in a local FB group asking how others have done it.

Use an agent easy
