Is it normal to receive an 'under consideration' notice for a COVID visa extension at the Chiang Mai immigration office?

Today everyone who applied for covid extension at CM immigration office were asked to write down that we are agree that our visa will be under consideration and we will have to come back in 15 days to “extend” it. Is it normal or there’s a big chance we will be denied after 15 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Applicants for COVID visa extensions at the Chiang Mai immigration office were asked to acknowledge that their visas would be under consideration, requiring a return visit in 15 days. This practice is considered normal, with users suggesting a high likelihood of approval upon return.

It's definitely NORMAL. And not...abby-normal. 🙂

If you have the under consideration, you are 99.9% assured of getting the approval stamp when you return. If not, then that WOULD BE abby-normal. ;)

Also, can I extend my “under consideration” stamp after 15 days not in Chiang Mai but in Bangkok?

nope you cannot, IF you get an under consideration stamp you go back to that immigration office to "close the loop"

no other office will touch it

So think carefully what you're gonna do,

Its normal and usual

Just be sure to show up as instructed

You will get the added days stamped into your passport.
