I just left the immigration office in Petburi to apply for a 60 days covid visa extension .
They granted me 15 days. They say an officer is going to come to check my place. And then i can go back to immigration office to get 45 more days.
Did anyone experienced this before ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience obtaining a 60-day COVID visa extension in Thailand, where they were initially granted only 15 days due to an ongoing consideration process. Several comments provided clarifications on the situation, confirming that the 'under consideration' status is common, and instructions to return after 15 days are standard. There were also discussions regarding potential confusion arising from language barriers and the specifics regarding home checks related to visa extensions.
I think IF you look at the stamp in your passport you will see that it says "application for extension of stay under consideration until" and has a date on it that you go back to get the covid extension inked in.
The "two stamp process" (under consideration followed by the covid extension when that runs out) is common at many immigration offices ๐

Do you mean the immigration office at Tha Yang in Phetchaburi province?

1. There is no area called "Petburi". What immigration office did you actually use?
2. >They granted me 15 days
If you look at your passport, you will see a stamp saying "under consideration", telling you to return in 15 days. Return to 15 days.
>They say an officer is going to come to check my place.
Who said that? For *SOME* extension of stays, an immigration officer may come to your workplace/ house to confirm you are working/ residing where you claim you're residing. This does not apply for the COVID-19 related extension of stay.
Don't forget, Thais are not native English speakers, and some Thais simply repeat the sounds without understanding what those sounds mean. "We will go to your house and check" may be something the immigration officer says to everyone who has an "under consideration" stamp, however he would have no idea what those sounds represent.
