Applied CoVid extension today in Chiang Mai. Standard process plus I had to write a statement in English saying I could come back in 15 days for "under consideration" stamp. Weird. Never had to sign that before, though I've had the "under consideration" stamp before.

See photo. I had to copy exactly what was written from a piece of paper handed to me.

I asked him what would have happened if I was unable to return in 15 days and he said I would then only get a 15 day stamp. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

CM Immigration is closed tomorrow, March 26, FYI.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a CoVid visa extension in Chiang Mai and mentioned a new requirement of writing a statement in English to acknowledge returning in 15 days for an 'under consideration' stamp, which was not previously required for them. They noted that if they could not return in 15 days, they would only receive a 15-day stamp. Other comments included insights on immigration procedures and the potential for adding 60 days to the application date.

When does your current stamp expire? This week CM immigration told me that they'd add 60 days on to application date, not expiry date. I'm end of April so I decided to wait.

@Mic****
and are you on a covid extension already? We are seeing offices add a 60 day covid extension to people who are on a covid extension already

@Tod ********
yes on covid extension, valid until April 29th. CM told me I could apply but that 60 days would be added to application date.

@Mic****
, strange, that isn't how it is at most offices now. Not that it should matter but was your current covid extension from the Chiang Mai office as well?
Michael *********
@Tod ********
yes, all of them from CM. I was disappointed ๐Ÿ˜‚. That's why I was curious when is OP's expiry date.

@Michael ********
that is some strange info indeed. one last question were you talking to one of those volunteers OR was it a real thai immigration officer?

inside, official, 2 Boys in Brown. Appreciate all y'all do!
Tod *********
that is because they want to make SURE you know that you can only close out an under consideration stamp at the office that issued it. Meaning if you're not gonna be IN chiang mai in 2 weeks there's no reason to get the full stamp.
