Hey guys.

So we applied for the Covid Extension Visa and got our ‘under consideration’ stamp abs asked to report back on the day our current visa (visa exempt 45days + 30days) runs out.

Is this normal? To rock up on the date our current visa expires? When only under consideration?

Thanks guys.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the normal procedure after receiving an 'under consideration' stamp for a Covid Extension Visa application, specifically whether it's standard to report back on the expiry date of their current visa. Several commenters provide insights, indicating that while it may not be the typical practice, it is allowable. They caution about correctly applying for the right visa type and discuss the possibility of transitioning from a Covid Visa to an Educational Visa (ED visa), mentioning mixed information on that front.

Looking at your answers to other questions, i think you may have jumped the gun a bit applying for covid extension so immigration gave you the under consideration. You will probably go back and get the 60 days then.

Couple of public holidays though in october watch the dates

It may not be "normal", but it is what it is. An under consideration stamp can be thought of as a "temporary" extension of stay. I wouldn't think too much.

Are you sure you didn't just get the 30 day extension?

@Darren ******
pretty sure. As we got the 30day extension a week before. And we just got the covid extension under consideration stamp.

We got it in panic before knowing the date had been extended to Nov.

don't think I've come across that before I have to say, hopefully some others will have.

However, the under consideration part is normal in some of the immigration offices. I wouldn't worry about, I haven't read of anyone getting the under consideration stamp and then being denied the rest of the extension.

Are you on the 30 day extension at the moment ?

What immigration office.

When you come back, they will give you the 60days starting right at the end of your 30days.
