For the workacation visa, is it absolutely necessary for the employment contract to say “remote” or “home-based”? Thanks
Answer summary
For the workacation visa in Thailand, it is generally required that the employment contract explicitly states that the job is 'remote' or 'home-based.' Several comments suggest that the contract must mention 'abroad,' and specifying Thailand is a plus for clarity. However, some people indicate that instead of the contract, a separate letter from the employer confirming the ability to work remotely from Thailand may suffice. It's noted that requirements can vary by embassy, highlighting the need for documentation that aligns with the specific embassy's guidelines.

It has to say "abroad" and "remote" if it says home based it wont work
In Australia my contract said remote was ok but they also asked for a letter to confirm which I was able to get. Sometimes it depends on which embassy.
Yes, it is. It must say both that the job is remote and that you're allowed to work abroad. It must mention abroad at least, or if it specifically mentions Thailand still better.
The contract does not have to say that, it can be in a letter from the employer that you can work remotely from Thailand and won't work for Thai businesses or clients
