Hello, I am indian national, been all my life in Dubai, recently my company switched me to remote work.

Now, I am interested in applying for DTV visa from Dubai, I have the 500,000 THB funds requirement sorted out but my employment contract does not say remote work anywhere and it is a hassle to get my company to make a new contract or edit the current one.

If my company issues a salary certificate with my designation and in brackets, it says remote - Purchasing Supervisor (Remote), will this be enough? Will the Thai consulate in Dubai approve it?

You don’t have to change your contract. In fact, you might not even have to submit your contract at all. Just get a letter from your company on a company letterhead stating your position and that you are free to work remotely from Thailand. That, plus your financial proof should suffice.

I don't know about Dubai but most consulates want to see a letter from your employer specifically giving you permission to work remotely from Thailand. It also helps if it confirms you won't interact with Thai entities or clients inside Thailand. Just the letter usually suffice rather than having to get your contract amended

Jeremy Miller I saw a lot of posts saying that while coming back to Thailand on soft power path since its DTV 1 vs DTV2, it doesn't make sense to me but any truth to this?

Mid Knight the dtv visa is a 5 year visa broken into 6 month segments both have all the same benefits

That’s for both the workcation and soft power

The only real difference is that the soft power cost more because you have to purchase a school or get medical stuff done
