Has anyone applied for the DTV with a sponsorship letter from their employer instead of having 500,000 THB in their own bank account? My friend is a remote worker, and their employer has offered to provide a sponsorship letter to support the application.
On the official website ([[members only])), it states:
*"Financial evidence: amount of no less than 500,000 THB, e.g., bank statements, sponsorship letter."*
This seems to suggest that sponsorship documents are accepted as financial evidence. Has anyone had success with this? Could it depend on how well-established the sponsoring company is?
Thanks for sharing any experiences or advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question discusses the possibility of applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand using a sponsorship letter from an employer instead of the required 500,000 THB in personal funds. Several commenters share their insights, noting that sponsorship letters are typically accepted for dependents, and there may be limitations on employer sponsorship. It's advised to contact the embassy for clarification and consider having solid financial proof from the employer if necessary.
It's not common practice from an employer. Best you get in touch with the consulate you're planning on using and see what their response is to this scenario before proceeding.
A sponsorship letter from an employer seems like a viable option for a case like this since your friend is not incorporated or freelancer but an employee. Sponsorship in immigration usually refers to either employers (for getting a work permit usually, so a bit of different scenario) or family. Best to email the embassy and ask for clarification. If you do not receive an answer within your acceptable timeline and can not provide any proof of the 500k, have your employer draft a sponsorship letter detailing their level of financial support to you.
Regarding sponsorship, the person who can sponsor you should be directly related (Parents, siblings etc), you can check with embassy where you applying if the company transfer the funds in your account making it more than 500K Baht, would they consider the application or not
It does seem possible from the published documents. I can only remember one sponsorship post on here and it was a family sponsorship. It was from an Australian application. There might be others - have a serch.
