What should I prepare for customs when entering Thailand with a DTV visa from Discover Thai Nature?

I got approved for the DTV using Discover Thai Nature about six months ago. I'm going to enter the country for the first time in about a month ( I haven't attended any sessions in person, obviously because I'm in the U.S ) and I'm wondering what I might get asked for when I go through customs. Has anyone gone through with Discover Thai Nature and been asked specific questions, or asked to prove 500,000 baht in an account?

Should I have printouts of the schedule or anything in particular to have on hand in case I get asked questions about my course? If it matters,I'll be flying into Chiang Mai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to enter Thailand for the first time on a Digital Tourism Visa (DTV) obtained through Discover Thai Nature and seeks advice on what to expect at customs. They ask about potential questions from customs officials and whether they need to provide proof of funds, such as showing 500,000 baht. Additionally, they consider having documentation regarding their course available for reference. Commenters clarify that customs and immigration are separate processes and suggest having a printout of the DTV and related documents accessible on their phone for possible inquiries.

You should be fine, have a printout of your DTV to show. Useful to have your DTV docs stored on your phone incase of being asked.

You're confusing terms. Many Americans incorrectly call Immigration/Passport Control "customs." Customs are the people who may randomly check your luggage upon entry for prohibited items or items subject to duty. They have nothing to do with your entry into a country. Even in the USA, customs are the people who wave you through or direct you to an inspection station when you present your blue customs form about what you are bringing into the country.

As for your question, some DTV holders have reported being scrutinised and heavily questioned about the activity that qualified them for the DTV, and asked to show that any of the qualifying factors in your application are still met.

Thank you for the correction of terms. I appreciate it. I'm not sure what I could be asked? Outside of naming the company that's providing the classes. I haven't attended any as of yet because I haven't been in the country. So I really don't know what they would ask. I could also show my bank statements; I do have over 500,000 baht in them, so that's no problem. I just want to be prepared.

I will be attending most online, but I do plan to do at least one in person.

just an FYI, I believe you have to attend the the classes that have a WORKSHOP component in person. You better take a look at the schedule and take note of the sessions that say "+ workshop."

I doubt they will ask you about previous attendance. You will be doing remotely anyway will you not?

Agree with your first paragraph. Americans live in a unique world.

On the second point, most DTV holders glide through immigration without a mention. After all, they have been vetted and issued with a visa.
