Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask: Has anyone applied for the visa while being in Cambodia?

And - Do you know if those 500,000 baht have to be on your bank account only for the specific day when handing in the application or do you have to have those 500K on your bank account for like 3 months or something...?

I am asking because I will have some major costs very soon and I am considering applying for the DTV before spending bigger amounts of money (because then I would not have those 500K anymore).

The problem you may face, is if they request additional documents, or if they request an interview at any point during the application process.

I have heard and seen of people being asked to open their banking app, to show they still have the money in the bank. Though this seemed a little extreme, you run the risk of being denied. My advice, delay paying those expenses (as silly as it sounds) until the visa application is approved.

dollar. I was not asked for previous months. Just my current bank status (savings account) was enough. It'll take about 2 to 3 weeks before you are approved. Since it's an e-visa directly from the Thai government I don't think it matters much where you are applying from. I did get mine in Cambodia as well.

Read the website of the Thai Embassy you will apply at, and read very careful, to avoid misunderstandings as 5.000.000 or 500.000
