Hello All, I am looking at the Insurance requirement for the 90-day O VISA and am wondering if anyone, recently, got approved in satisfying this health insurance requirement via purchasing the Safety Wing Travel medical insurance with a maximum coverage of 250K USD. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the health insurance requirement for the 90-day Non-O visa in Thailand, specifically asking if Safety Wing's travel medical insurance would be acceptable. Responses indicated that there is currently no insurance requirement for the Non-O visa. However, one comment mentioned recent changes in Canada regarding the 90-day Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa that may involve an insurance requirement. The original poster plans to confirm these requirements during their online application process.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post. The screenshot I posted is from the official website. It is quite possible that it is outdated. I will find out whether a health insurance is indeed a requirement once I start my online application and is requested to provide one. I will keep you all posted.

it seems the Thai embassies and consulates in Canada have changed the requirements regarding the 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa. They now require a health insurance with a coverage of 400.000.- THB. It can be a foreign insurance or a Thai insurance, if you chose a foreign insurance, it has to sign the F.I.C. form. It remains to be seen if Immigration inside Thailand will require a mandatory health insurance for all those Canadians who apply for the "1-year extension of stay", or if this was only an isolated hickup from the Thai dependances in Canada.

Allow me - as a long time Safety Wing customer it will not be acceptable to the Thai immigration for visas. Only for hospitals.

There is currently no health insurance requirement for the Non O visa.

looks like that's from a 3rd party web site and is referencing OA visa, go to the official website for the requirements, but if it is for the OA visa you will need to purchase a policy that is specific for the visa.

I just got an I Visa with no insurance requirement. I chose LUMA since I want coverage while traveling. Good luck.
