TLDR : Answer Summary
There is no requirement for health insurance for a visa extension based on marriage, regardless of whether it's a Non-O or Non-OA visa.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

the last I remember you had decided to forgo the extension based on marriage and instead go for the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage from the thai consulate in HCMC Vietnam.

There is no proof of insurance required on that visa where you bounce every 90 days OR on a yearly extension of stay based on marriage that you get from the immigration office from it.
