UK passpotr holder . I am currently on a Non O extension based on retirement that is finishes end of jan 2026 .

I opened a seperate Bank account in October 2025 with a deposit of 400000 baht .

I am now about to apply for a Non O extension based on marriage to a Thai .

Is the 3 month seasoning of the 400000 baht in the new account enough to satisfy the financial requirements , or do I still need to show Ive had 800000 baht for 3 months after my last extension and then at least 400000 baht for 6 months and then up again to 800000 baht for the last 3 months

I am applying at Jomtien Immigration .

Thx in advance for assistance .

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder currently on a Non-O extension based on retirement is seeking clarification on financial requirements for a marriage-based Non-O extension. They have deposited 400,000 baht in a new bank account and wonder if this amount, seasoned for three months, meets immigration's requirements, or if they must demonstrate a history of maintaining 800,000 baht in their account prior to the new application. Responses indicate that the 400,000 baht should suffice for the marriage extension as long as other documentation is properly prepared, although some regions operate with a practice of requiring three months seasoning.

I still had to have 12 months statements from the old bank then 2 from the new for the extension based on marriage.

as long as the statements go back far enough. If you apply for a 12 month statement on the Bangkok Bank app it gives the current month and the previous 11 months (so unless you'd applied for the previous extension on or after the 1st of February last year it wouldn't suffice)

You do not need to satisfy the retirement 800,000 baht cycle going forward. However, you must still be able to show that the 800,000 baht was maintained in your account for three months after your last retirement extension was issued and that it did not fall below 400,000 baht during that period. Your 400,000 baht, seasoned since October, should be sufficient for a marriage-based extension, provided all other documentation is in order. Formally the requirement is two months of seasoning, although some immigration offices apply a three-month practice.

Thx Jan , I thought that would be the case .

Would my Bank book be enough to show I maintained the
*****
0 for 3 months after and it never went below the
*****
0 ? Would I need to copy that bank book also ?? . Also would the certificate from my bank be for the new account opened in Oct ??

IndigoJaguar8670 get 12 months worth of statements from the bank you used for your retirement visa showing you didn't drop below 800k for 3 months or 400k at any point until you have the new extension. The 400k in the new bank for 3 months is good for an extension based on marriage. You will need a letter certifying the money in your new bank for the extension and bank book updated on the day

IndigoJaguar8670 Yes, that should normally be sufficient. Your bank book is the primary document used to demonstrate that the balance did not fall below the required threshold after your previous extension was granted. For the new application, you would typically present an updated bank book together with a standard bank letter issued by the bank where the 400,000 baht is held. The bank letter should relate to the new account opened in October and confirm the current balance and account details as of the application date.
