Hi all,

I will be doing my first covid extension in the next couple of days before my tourist extension runs out (10th of september) at Chaengwattana Bangkok

I received the following documents when I was last at the immigration office : TM7 - STM2 - Affadavit for granting permission to temporarily stay in the Kingdom (...) - Acknowledgement of Penalties for a Visa Overstay

Quick questions

* I read on some posts about TM30 that needs to be filed and handed over as well? But I also think I read somewhere that they don't ask for this in Bangkok?

* About TM30 am I right that this needs to be filed prior to my covid extension at MTT or am I mixing everything up?

* 90 day report, when I got my 30 day extension for TR VISA on the stamp it is written need to report every 90 day: is this from the day I entered Thailand or from the day i got the 30 days extension? (When I asked the immigration officer he kind of brushed it off saying that it was once I start my covid extension?)

* TM30 needs to be done only once and 90 days report every 90 day (of course) at MTT?

I'm sorry this is all very confusing for me and I tried looking through all the posts here on the group but bare with me these are my first times dealing with immigration in Thailand so I'm just really really lost

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to apply for a COVID extension of their tourist visa in Bangkok and is confused about the necessary documentation, particularly regarding the TM30 form and the 90-day reporting requirement. They ask if TM30 is needed for the extension, how it relates to their stay, and the timing for the 90-day report after being granted a previous extension. Responses indicate that TM30 may or may not be required in Bangkok and that reporting requirements can depend on when the user last entered Thailand or obtained an extension.

TM30 not know why it is used for, but easy to type it.

It is used to register a foreigner at an address.

When you visit Immigration for an Extension of Stay, they would like to know your address and in the old times you could just say I stay on Sukhomvit road house 1 is long gone. You do not need the document to register your address as that is done within 24 hours of your arrival, you need proof that you have an address registered and that could be one of these three ways.

I bring my Tm30 every time but they always hand it back to me at MTT for covid extension.

@Will *******
you don't GIVE them your TM30 receipt ๐Ÿ˜• You keep that in your passport.

As a rule you make a copy of it and turn in with the other copies and application form ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did my COVID extension of Tourist visa at Changwattana today. They didnโ€™t ask TM-30 nor embassy letter. For special tourist visa extension, TM-30 is required.

Bangkok MAY ask for a TM30. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

>About TM30 am I right that this needs to be filed prior to my covid extension at MTT or am I mixing everything up?

The TM30 needs to be filed before you apply for an extension of stay. ASK your landlord/ property owner if they already filed it for you.

> is this from the day I entered Thailand or from the day i got the 30 days extension?

Ask the 90 day report desk at MTT.

>TM30 needs to be done only once and 90 days report every 90 day (of course) at MTT?

The TM30 needs to be filed no later then one business day after you arrive at a location to spend the night. This should be filed by the property owner.
