ORIGINAL POSTER
CoViD-19 Unable to Travel Extension Experience (Bangkok, Chaengwatthana Immigration):

* Came at around 13:40 pm.

* Had to fill the form before entering the building, the answers were "no" for each question.

* After checking my form, I was asked regarding when I had my last ATK test, which I answered as never having it at all, then was asked if I agreed to get tested in the ATK testing place adjacent to the building, I agreed. Perhaps the unvaccinated part made them panic.

* Got a negative test result and was asked to take a picture and show it to the person working at the entrance.

* Waited for about 3 hours to get my visa extended (70 people queue). No questions asked. Had an embassy letter, so it was a smooth process. I didn't have a TM30 form, as I was never asked to provide it, I told that my address didn't change since my previous extensions, so the immigration worker checked it online, and didn't make it mandatory among my documents.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The experience shared outlines the process of extending a visa at the Chaengwatthana Immigration office in Bangkok during COVID-19. Key points include the requirement to fill out a health form, the possibility of being asked to take an ATK COVID test, and the smooth extension process if all necessary documentation is provided. It also highlights that the ATK testing requirement primarily applies to unvaccinated individuals and that it is specific to this immigration office.

ATTENTION: the possibility of being asked to take an antigen (ATK) covid test is ONLY in Bangkok and ONLY at the main immigration office at Chaengwattana. It has nothing to do with immigrations and everything to do to get into the government complex that the main immigration office just happens to be located in.

IF you fill out the form that you hadn't traveled outta province in the last 2 weeks, hadn't been around any one who had covid, whether you're vaxxed or not you shouldn't have to take an ATK test.

I was there Thursday (just to check what was what) and it seemed they were asking about 1 in 20 or 1 in 30 people to test before they could get in.

The good news is IF you're asked to test there's a free testing facility IN that building so you're out nothing but time to get it done. There are reports that if you already took an ATK test in the last 3 days they were accepting a photo of the dated results to get in as well.

Don't panic, you'll get in to the building, you might have to test, but you might not. This is the form you fill out

I went to MTT yesterday, they didn't ask me for atk. I am vaccinated (3 dose). Perhap they ask for atk, if u are unvaccinated.

@Ryan *****
it's ONLY at Chaengwattana and has nothing to do with immigrations it's to get IN to the building itself not the immigration office inside the building.
