My one year Thai marriage Visa extension expires in 90 days. Nothing has changed in terms of where I live or my personal circumstances and I have 400,000 baht in the bank. What documents will I require this time? When should I start the process as I am sure you don't wait until last day to be put under the consideration? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your one-year Thai marriage visa, you will need to gather the same documents as in previous applications, and it's best to visit your local immigration office in Khon Kaen for a definitive list. Generally, you can apply for your extension at least 30 days before your current visa expires, but you can also wait until the last day if necessary. Having sufficient funds in your bank account simplifies the process. It's encouraged to apply early to resolve any potential issues.

Go to your immigration office and get a copy of the list or required documents. If you did it last year , I’m sure it will be the same as the previous year. Check with your immigration office I know some differ about when you can apply

Jon Warner your situation is very easy (banking lump sum). I not see any difficulties, and apply as soon as possible (30 calendar days before your current extension expire, including last day and application day). In case of any problems you will have a plenty of time to fix them.

Jon Warner That's OK, for first extension I also visit IMM 3 times. As I remember, I asked for copy of affidavit from my Embassy stated I was not married before I do marriage registration in Thailand. No such document required for 2nd and consecutive extensions.

you don't NEED to apply for your extension when you have 30 days or less, at most offices 30 days before is the SOONEST you can apply. You can wait until the very last day of your current extension if you wanted to.

Tod Daniels So would you then be put under consideration at this point (for 30 days I assume)until Immigration completes the process and then they back date the renewal to start at the end of the previous extension?

if you are applying for another yearly extension the actual date it begins is the date your current ones ends. You don't lose any time going early,

You should be able to apply for a 1 year extension at least 30 days early.

Probably best if you visit the office and get all the information you need directly from them 👍

I'm going to leave this post open. Remember, extension of stay based on marriage is immigration office specific, so please only answer if you know it's true for Khon Kaen Immigration.
