TLDR : Answer Summary
To determine whether your retirement visa is single or multiple entry, check the type of visa you received. If issued in Thailand, it would typically be a 0 entry as you were already inside the country. If obtained from an embassy, either the NON-OA visa, which is multiple entry and requires health insurance and other documentation, or the NON-O visa, which is single entry without those requirements, may apply. It's important to note that if you hold a 1-year extension based on retirement, this is not classified as a visa, and you'll need a re-entry permit to travel, which will indicate whether it's single or multiple entry.

If you got your visa in Thailand it was 0 entry as you were already in Thailand when you got it.

If you got it from an embassy, there is only 1 multiple entry retirement visa and that's the non-OA visa that requires you to have health insurance, get a health certificate, a criminal background check and others.

A non-O does not require those things and it is single entry.

If you are on a 1-year extension of stay based on retirement you do not have a visa at all. You have an extension and it is not single or multiple entry, as you were already in Thailand when you got it. You would need to apply for a re-entry permit to be able to leave and return. You would have a large stamp in your passport that says "Re-Entry Permit" and it would say single or multiple, and have an end date on it that matches your extension.

if you're leaving and returning before the end of your extension, and you're only making the 1 trip, then a single re-entry permit is fine.

Thankyou for the information .where do I apply for the re entry permit immigration or the airport.thanks

You can go to your immigration office, or you can do it at the airport. At your immigration office it will be 1000 baht for single entry, or 3800 baht for multiple re-entry.

At the airport it will be 1200 for single entry or 4000 for multiple entry. The airport might not sell multiple re-entry.
