Hello I have a 30 day tourist visa on the arrival date of 01/12/2019. Can I get another 30 day extension if I go to an immigration office in the next couple of day. My flight out is booked for the 30/01/2020. Will immigration give me the extension for 30 days from the 30/12/2019, or will it be from the date I go in a couple of days. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a 30-day extension of your tourist visa at an immigration office before your original visa expires. The extension will be added to your current visa stamp, giving you a total of 60 days in Thailand. It's advisable not to wait until the last day to apply for the extension.

Extension days will be added, there is no downside to go to immigration office to apply earlier. Make sure you get additional 30days when you get back your passport (Some times they make mistakes).. You entered 1 Dec, guess your current admitted to stay might be 30th Dec because your entering day is day one and you are allowed to stay for 30days 29nights actually. From this you may get the stamp until 29th Jan...

, if you want to come back to Thailand anytime in 2020, be careful with the overstay even if it is only one day

The extension of stay is added to your current visa exempt stamp. You do not need to wait until the last day to get the extension. When you get the extension, you will get a total of 60 days in the country (30 days when you originally enter, and the other 30 days for the extension).
