TLDR : Answer Summary
You can generally extend a tourist visa by one 30-day extension at the immigration office in Thailand for a fee of 1,900 baht. After this single extension, it is typically required to apply for a COVID-related extension if applicable. However, the rules can vary and may change due to government policies, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hi all, what documents are needed for the COVID extension?
Ike *********
I m sure you can do more than one extension. I did 30 day extension at immigration for 1,900 bah and going again to get another 30 days before February 1.

My visa expires February 1

Ike Runnels. If you've already had one 30-day extension, you won't get another. As Wayne has indicated, go to immigration before January 25 to get a 60-day covid extension to ensure you can stay. If for some reason the covid extensions are no longer offered you will only be able to get a 7-day "get out of the country" stamp

on a visa you get one only 30 day extension, then you need to apply for the covid i can not go home extension which at this moment expires on the 25th Jan for applications, Probably they will extend past the 25th but no one know what the Govt will decide
Wayne *********
Put simply, you can extend your exempt stamp or TR visa by one only 30 days, then if your lucky can apply for the covid unable to fly home extension, which at this stage applications close on the 25th but more than likely they will extend this expiry date but no one ever knows what the Thai government may decide.

thanks for your reply. Do you know if you can still do visa runs? Used to go to myanmar when living on koh tao 14 years ago. Maybe Cambodia..

no border crossings are open as of yet, so no you cannot bounce out and then back in.

@Dennis ***************
nope land crossing are closed and you would then need to apply for thai pass again with insurance sandbox or Quarantine

My Thai Visa expires 10 Feb. I was going to fly into Phnom Behn prior to that and fly back into BKK 4 weeks later and get another 30 days in Thailand .

But fuggedaboutit.Too costly, too complicated, and too much uncertainty.

I sure miss Visa Runs.

They want you to use your one-time 30-day extension before you apply for Covid extension (s)

(I tried giving my usual advice over in the “farang trapped abroad” forum but there’s too many poisonous “keyboard warriors” over there constantly dragging my posts into the mud and taking silly little irrelevant keywords out of context, Totally missing the meaning of my post to begin with. Completely sick and fed-up with it.) Hoping to have much more success over on this forum! Thank you!
