Hi Thai expat friends, how many pages do I need free on my passport to re enter the kingdom on a tourist visa? I’m going to Vietnam next month and I’ll be running it very close to a full passport. I am currently in the process of cancelling a work permit so that will probably take up a page?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Ensure you have adequate blank pages in your passport for stamps and visas when re-entering Thailand on a tourist visa, especially if planning to visit Vietnam before returning.

For the requirement of showing proof of lodging, if you're renting a house do you need to bring a copy of the landlord's ID card or just the signed lease?

Also, are there extra fees you have to pay in person once you arrive if you got an e-visa and paid for it online?

I think I do man, will that work ?

Only on days without a ‘y’ in them. It’s a crap shoot that really should be avoided.

But it’s up to them...3 countries stamped where I asked, in South Africa he looked at me, said he could stamp where he wanted and went to my last blank page! 😡

They should stamp anywhere there's space for the entry/exit stamp on the same page. It doesnt have to run in page order.

So you have no space on other pages? I was running out but got a few countries to stamp further back as long as there is space for them

Make sure your remaining pages can be used for stamps and visas. US passports have pages in the back with the word "Endorsements" on them and no country will stamp on them.

Other than that, you need at least enough space for the full page thai visa, possibly a full page vietnam visa (unless you get in without one), the exit stamp to thailand, the entry/exit stamp to vietnam and then your entry stamp to thailand.

This is the only official site to apply for the eVisa

Is the pre approved visa letter from a travel agency? If so, no, it's not the same as the eVisa. With the pre approved letter you must to to Visa on Arrival desk when you arrive and fill out a form. You will then get a full page visa sticker.

Wasn't my experience in Hanoi. Just the entry stamp and another small stamp. Don't know for other ports of entry.

I have a pre approved visa letter for Vietnam, is this the same as a e visa?

oh, I was under the impression (by googling around) that the invitation letter only means they put the visa sticker in your passport when you arrive. NOT that you only get entry/exit stamps like brits (who get in without a visa for 14 days)

Tod Daniels buying a visa at the consulate takes up a full page in your passport.

The e-visa is done on-line for the approval letter and then line up to pay and to get your stamp when you enter Vietnam.

Then another exit and entry stamp when you return to Thailand.

This whole on-line, exit entry, exit, entry thing takes about

page.

If you get Vietnam eVisa issued by the government (not available for all nationalities) you just get stamped in and out

@Da***
, nope, I think they either go to the vietnamese consulate and BUY the visa before they go, OR they do that online invitation letter that lets them buy a visa on arrival, BUT either way it takes up a whole page.

@T**
. Is there an option to use e-visa (to save space).

I have an aus passport. I hope it will work out haha

That's about 3 pages IF they cram the entry exit stamps together ;)
