Is it safe to travel to Thailand with only one page left in my passport?

Has anyone arrived in Thailand with only one page in their passport and had a problem going through immigration??? I’m an expat living here and I’m going home for a couple weeks but that won’t be enough time for me to get a new passport. I’ll do it in Bangkok when I return. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the concerns of an expat traveling to Thailand with only one blank page left in their passport. Multiple comments clarify that it is generally not a problem as long as the passport is valid for the duration of stay. Although some suggest having at least two pages available, it is pointed out that only one page is needed for entry and exit stamps. The original poster plans to apply for a new passport in Bangkok upon their return.

Hi all! Thanks for all your help! I’m on a non-B Visa, return to Thailand on a re-entry stamp. I have years left on my passport but only one page left. I’m from the US but won’t have enough time to apply for a new passport. From what I found it can not be expedited any faster than 2-3 weeks. I won’t be in the US that long. When I get back I’ll apply for a new one from the US embassy in Bangkok. That’s my plan anyway!

you shouldn't have a problem stamping out (one small triangle stamp) when you leave and then stamping back in (one small rectangle stamp) when you come back.

Must have one free page

Or get an expedited passport 4 day turnaround costly but worth it

It is my understanding that you require two pages and 6 months. Usually you can get an express passport. You certainly can in the UK

that is incorrect, there is actually no requirement to have any blank pages more than the entry and exit stamp you will receive and there is no requirement that the passport be valid for 6 months ONLY that it is valid for the amount of time you'll get stamped in for

Do you still have 6 months valid on the life of the passport. They normal find a space.

yea I think it might be a moot point

what, it's a point, but really really quiet? 😉

ok if you only have 5 months left they will not issue a visa to enter. So it's mute point.

It is not a requirement to have 6 months validity on a passport to enter thailand that requirement is to get a visa from a thai consulate.

You can fly in on a passport as long as it is valid for as you will be stamped in for..
