Hi there! I have a Thai visa that expires in February. My passport is running low on pages and I leave soon for holiday so I was thinking to renew my passport in the US. My concern is, upon re-entering Thailand will my visa still be valid?
I have renewed my passport in Thailand before and went to immigration to have the visa transferred, no issue. However, I cannot go to immigration to do this if I am outside of the country.
Do I just come back with both of my passports? The old one with the visa and the brand new one? Do I need to go to a consulate in the US?
I have two blank pages left in my passport. Will that be enough to re enter Thailand? Should I just wait and renew it in Thailand when I return?
Thanks!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the validity of their Thai visa when renewing their passport in the US. They want to know if they can return to Thailand with both the old passport (containing the visa) and the new one, and if they need to visit a consulate for any procedures. Comments suggest that presenting both passports at immigration is typically accepted and advise ensuring a valid re-entry permit is in place.
