TLDR : Answer Summary
When re-entering Thailand from Laos, travelers under the visa exemption typically receive a 60-day entry stamp. There is an option to extend this stay by an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. Recent experiences shared by users indicate that the immigration process is smooth, with no major issues upon re-entry, although it may be necessary to present proof of accommodation and a flight back (especially for some travelers). The policy change to a 60-day entry has generally been well-received.

My wife and I just returned from Luang Prabang, Laos πŸ‡±πŸ‡¦ on Thursday through Don Mueang Airport and we both got stamped in fir 60 days. No hassle at all, immigration officer was very nice just like when we arrived in January. Both times got 60 days. I am extremely grateful for their new policy. Hope they keep it.

If you fly in get an e-visa. The queue at visa on arrival was biblical at Vientiane..

did this trip a few weeks ago..spent 2 nights as required without an agency taking the

Thai - Lao Friendship Bridge No.4.. from Chiang Khong Th to Houayxay laos....

Given a paper notice re conditions upon reentry into Thailand , but other than 2 day mandatory stay ..nothing really needed upon return and received a visa exempt entry. Perhaps I should note that I had a tourist visa before that , but don't think that made much of a difference. Also had a sort of re entry permit with local Chiang Rai address stapled in PP..though many of the other folks entering had none of those, and no problems that I could see.

You might have to show a flight home and Thailand accommodation

You would get 60 days which you can extend by 30 days at your local immigration office but it might be advisable to use a border run agency

Visa exempt entries get 60 days.
