TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of getting a free 30-day visa by traveling to Laos and returning to Thailand before their current visa expires. Responses suggest that if the user is on a 60-day tourist visa, they can typically apply for a 30-day extension at an immigration office for a fee. However, if they have already utilized a 30-day visa exemption, they must leave and re-enter to qualify for another free stamp. Overall, pursuing an extension at immigration is advised as a more straightforward option.

Start with extending the 60 day tourist visa with 30 days at the nearest Immigration office for 1900 Baht, before spending larger sums to go out of Thailand and then back in again.

Is it a Tourist Visa that you have? If so you could extend it for 30 days at an Immigration office near you. Depends on where you are?

If you're really on a TR 60, you don't need to do a border bounce. Get a 30 day extension at your Immigration office.

If you’re on a 60 days visa you can do a 30 days visa extension at your local immigration.

If you’re on a 30 days visa exemption (30 days free stamp) and already done one 30 days extension, you’ll need to leave and re-enter to get a new 30 days visa exemption. (Free stamp).

No, but visa exemption back to Thailand is not a visa. Just a free stamp.

Are you on a visa exemption or did you get a Tourist visa before you came here? If you got a visa before you came and haven't already extended it then you can go to immigration and get a 30 day extension.

no I planned to go to laos for a day or 2.but I was thinking if I go before it ended and I leave this time in the 30 days that I don't have. To pay, because the 30 day is free

30 days Visa Exempt entry is free for Thailand but you will need a Visa to enter Laos which is about the same price of a 30 day extension in Thailand (1900B)
