TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian traveler, currently in Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption, inquires about the possibility of obtaining another 30-day visa exemption upon returning from a day trip to Vientiane, Laos. Community members confirm that it is possible to receive another exemption at the border.

and I think now the O/P knows both what type of entry stamp they're getting in on when they show up here without a visa for thailand in their passport AND that they can get another 30 day visa exempt entry when they cross back into thailand from Lao at the Nong Khai border crossing.

Good Luck (y)

There are no 30 day tourist visas, you'll be getting a 30 days visa exemption and the answer to your question is yes.

Being an Australian (As stated) you can get entry into Thailand for 30 days for tourism under the visa exempt arrangement. There is no limit to the number of entries by air. There is a limit of two land crossing entries per calendar year. Land crossings are 30 days for Australians also.

totally depends on the passport to be fair.

I’ve assumed the OP is a holder of a passport which gives you visa exempt on arrival.

Also no such thing as 30 days tourist visa.

That’s your long answer😉
