TLDR : Answer Summary
After a 60-day visa exempt period and a 30-day extension, it is generally possible to extend your stay by crossing the border into Laos and returning to Thailand. Many users in the community confirm that this is a common practice, particularly for first-time border runs. However, it is important to note that staying longer than 90 days in a given year may raise questions at immigration, especially if done multiple times. For the best outcomes, especially if you have stayed in Thailand for extended periods, consider using a border run service to ensure a smooth re-entry.

First time, no problem. If been in country for over 180 days in past year then may be difficult through airports. Land borders safer in this situation. Best advice if you have been in country for more than 90 days this year (already been in and out) is to use a border run company to bounce you out and back in at one of their land border crossings. You can google “border run” and your “location”. Tell them your recent history in Thailand to be sure of the correct answer
Nice!! This is the best news I’ve heard in the group. I’m about to extend in January… and have been wondering this as well. I’m waiting for funds to deposit before I can get my DTV
