How long does it take to receive approval for a Non O-A visa from the Thai Consulate in Sydney?
I am currently applying for Non O-A through Thai Consulate in Sydney Australia and it is showing on the e-visa site that it is ‘pending approval’, does anyone know approximately how long, if approved, it takes until visa is emailed?
Just wondering if anyone has done it recently, I’m trying to work out whether I need to change flights, accommodation etc.

I am pretty sure they prioritise processing based on flight dates, not sure of your time lines but if you haven't got it processed a fortnight before you are due to travel I would give them a call

OPCraig Kendall ok thanks, my flight dates came and gone, I had to change to this weekend but not looking good for that either at the moment, but I will wait and see.

OPTony Iddiols was that for the Non OA? When it was going through the process, do you know how long it took from the ‘Pending Approval’ stage to the ‘Delivered Visa by Email’ stage?

OPTony Iddiols I have heard the Non O is quicker to get as not as many documents to check through for them.
As far as I am aware, if you apply from inside Thailand, you can only apply for the Non O and not the Non OA.

Mine took 7 days i sent all the right things for E Visa last 3 month bank statements. Address off accommodation in Thailand. Address of home address . Return air tickets . Passport.
Non O different i submitted all the information they asked still no answer after 6 weeks . So I just did E Visa application recived on 7 days from application

OPKenneth Owens yeah I have submitted E visa for NON-OA on 1st June, the status just changed today from ‘checking documents’ to ‘waiting approval’, hoping the next couple of steps don’t take long.

Kyle Watts Sydney are normally very good. Canberra are harder to deal with so you will be ok.

OPJan Kenneth Nesland yeah saw that and today was day 10, so when you log in and look at the progress of the application, it states ‘pending document check’, it has been on that for 10 days, now it’s at ‘pending approval’ I just wanted to see if anyone knew how long for the next couple of steps in the process

Kyle Watts I would sit tight. I expect with a non OA there is extra checks that need to take place. I did a DTV through Canberra in March and it took about 5 weeks from submitting extra documents to receiving the visa by email.

OPPaul Cockley yeah thought about it but wasn’t sure what they meant about ‘fixed deposit of at least 3,000,000 baht’, have the funds just not in a fixed deposit and not sure I want to tie up that much money just yet if it needs to be in a term deposit type account. Will look into it next year

Kyle Watts The drawback to the OA is that it requires you to buy specific insurance every year. I prefer the O which avoids that requirement (currently) and leaves the decision with the visa holder.

Kyle Watts yes correct only 90 days and you must sort the 800k in thai bank account within first month or you will not get the extension. OA gives you multi entry you can open acvount put the 800k in account and plenty of time no rush

OPRedKiwi7212 from what I read was it only lasted 90 days then you had to apply for an extension of 12 months, is that correct?
