TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Pass application process can vary in duration, with experiences shared by users ranging from two days to eleven days for approval. Some applicants have reported a smooth application process, while others faced delays. The Thai Pass is distinct from the Thai e-visa, as the former is specifically issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for entry permission, while the latter is obtained from a Thai consulate. Additionally, applicants are advised to secure Covid insurance prior to applying.

Do you need to get the covid insurance before you apply for the Thai Pass?

They've obviously made it easier after the fiasco of the first 5-6 days. More staff working to clear the backlog, being more sympathetic etc.

One big problem is when you get rejected they don't tell you why you've been rejected,

Is Thai pass and Thai e-visa the same thing. Just started some preliminary work on it and it says I’m ineligible.

@Manuel *******
No it is not. The e-visa is an online system to get the visa, or permissions (and restrictions) to enter Thailand and is usually issued by the local Thai Consulate office. The Thai Pass grants you permission to enter Thailand and is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

@Benjamin *****
fantastic reply, thank u. Do u need both ?

You *MAY* need a visa, if you can not enter on a visa exempt/ APEC card/ Bilateral Agreement or Visa on Arrival.

You WILL need a Thai Pass to enter Thailand.

it seems to be there’s many issues, be it browser specific, types of vaccine certificates or insurance and a multitude of other issues. Many people are still awaiting their confirmation. Many are getting rejected for various reasons.
